The setup wizard
- Welcome — a quick intro to what you’ll set up.
- Your business — enter your business name, a contact email or cell, and your address. The business name and at least one contact are required: the name appears in every message customers receive, and the contact is how Tellem reaches you about cancellations and late jobs. Pick the address from the suggestions so it pins on the map — the pinned location is what powers drive-time and arrival estimates.
- Add your first technician — add a field worker by name (and phone, if you have it). You can add more later on the Field workers page.
- Connect your calendar — link Google Calendar so your appointments flow in automatically. Prefer to start without it? You can skip this and add appointments another way.
What “ready to go” means
To send a customer an arrival update and predict a time, an appointment needs three things:- a customer phone or email (somewhere to send the update),
- a service address that pins on the map (so arrival can be estimated), and
- an assigned field worker (so their location drives the estimate).
After the wizard
- Bring in more appointments — see Appointments.
- Set up location sharing for each worker — see Field workers.
- Choose which automatic messages go out — see Notifications.
