The onboarding wizard walks you through the essentials step by step. You can also do any of these later from the matching dashboard page.

The setup wizard

  1. Welcome — a quick intro to what you’ll set up.
  2. Your business — enter your business name, a contact email or cell, and your address. The business name and at least one contact are required: the name appears in every message customers receive, and the contact is how Tellem reaches you about cancellations and late jobs. Pick the address from the suggestions so it pins on the map — the pinned location is what powers drive-time and arrival estimates.
  3. Add your first technician — add a field worker by name (and phone, if you have it). You can add more later on the Field workers page.
  4. Connect your calendar — link Google Calendar so your appointments flow in automatically. Prefer to start without it? You can skip this and add appointments another way.
When you finish, you’ll land on your dashboard ready to go.

What “ready to go” means

To send a customer an arrival update and predict a time, an appointment needs three things:
  • a customer phone or email (somewhere to send the update),
  • a service address that pins on the map (so arrival can be estimated), and
  • an assigned field worker (so their location drives the estimate).
Anything missing those shows up on the Needs attention page so you can fix it fast.
